Atomic City, 15 inch, Aries 1-B Review and Build and Simba.

I've recently been asked to build this model from Captain Cardboard's Atomic City. The package just arrived yesterday and it looks like it's going to be a really fun build. The packing was very professionally done, all of the parts have very crisp details and it's going be an easy kit to make look like a studio prop. That is my goal, to get this together, paint and detail it and set it in front of a green screen. Below are some pictures of the model parts. Additionally I will be making a kit review video and showing the build progress on youtube.

Most recent work...

Adding pics of the most recent work done on the Aries. I took sand paper and roughed up the inside and outside of the main engine exhaust. later I will go over and touch up and then do a wash and a dry brush to pull even more detail out.

Adding pics of the 1/25th Simba build for the same client....

Added three new pics of the 1/25th Simba build for the same client....

Below are some reference pictures that I took directly from the movie. I'll be using these and many more are "ACCURATE" references while building and lighting the ship, as well as creating a custom base and moonscape.

Much More To Come!

There was was some concern over placement of details....

More work on the preliminary stuff.....

I'm working on part II of the "Aries Kit Review" and will be posting that after the Holiday. I'm also working on the next movie and will be using the title below for the intro music. Also below is some more of the recent paint work and prep work on the parts. Finally, I will be doing a video of just the painting and detail tutorial type.

"Thus Sprach Zarathustra by Strauss."

I've been working on the exterior assembly and plotting out the landing gear according to Captain Cardboard's directions and have been working on the Pilot's cabin parts and external thrusters for the attitude thrusters. I'm also planning out the modifications that are going to be required to make in the passenger cabin look and light more like the interior set. See pictures below, more to come of the externals.

Even more new pictures.....

More new pics Still....
